Parting gift for outgoing French Ambassador |

The foundation
for contemporary art last week presented the outgoing French ambassador in
Accra H. E. Pierre Jaquemot a sculpture piece by the Nigerian Kola Joseph.
This is in recognition
of his massive support for the foundation over the past few years. H. E.
Jaquemot has been personally involved in the activities of the FCA and has
donated a number of goods to the resource center of the foundation.

A group of six
Cuban artists led by Manuel Mendive Hoyo paid a courtesy call to the offices
and resource center of the foundation for contemporary art in Accra.
The artists,
who are on an official visit to Ghana also met the minister for chieftaincy and
culture Hon. S. K. Boafo for talks on fostering the culture relations
existing between Ghana and Cuba.

FCA mentorship programme with Catholic Action for Street Children (CAS) |
25th
July, 2007: The foundation of contemporary Arts (FCA) in collaboration with the
catholic action for street children (CAS) has organized a two day mentorship
workshop for the street girls at the house of refuge for street children,
Latebiokorshie.
The theme of the
workshop was empowering Ghana’s
female youth through art. Sixteen street girls participated in the workshop,
assisted by four female artists who are members of the FCA and from whom the
girls are supposed to draw some inspiration.

On June 7, 2007,Dorine Rurashitse( artistic coordinator) and Jean – Pol Hubert( member of the board group) representatives of Africalia an organization that aims to promote sustainable human development through supporting the arts and contemporary African artistic expressions, visited and held discussions with some executive members of the FCA.

received books donated by the Public
Affairs Section of the United States Information Center (USIS) in Ghana
on the 16th of May, 2007.
Prof. Joe Nkrumah
received the books on behalf of the FCA at a short ceremony held at the
premises of the United States
Information Center.
