The Foundation for Contemporary Art continued the “Meet the Artist” series this month at the Goethe Cultural Institute, featuring: Bernard Akoi Jackson and Fatric Bewong.  Jackson aptly chose the theme, “To Dabble is Witchcraft. Participate” to describe the event.  The audience and the artists engaged in conversation about the art, ideas, and theories presented.

Meet the artist series with David Tete Charway
Image27th July, 2007: The FCA hosted its second ‘Meet the Artist’ series of this year. Featuring in this second series was David Tete Charway a member of FCA for almost a year now and a student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) where he studies painting and sculpture.
 
Speaking to the artists who attended the series, David said initially his choice of career to become an artist brought a lot conflict between him and his family especially his daddy who wanted him to do accounting.

Dr Marina Galvani Visits FCA-Ghana

In june 2006  the art curator for the World Bank in Washington, Dr Marina Galvani,  visited Ghana and was introduced to many artists through the FCA. We were most grateful to dr Galvani for her gift of the Dakar Biennal catalogue for our resource centre.
